Itinerary Description By Day

Day 1: Drive from Dar es Salaam to Selous Game Reserve for a game drive

Non game-viewing travel time: 4 hrs
Distance: 218.6 km

On your first day of the safari you will be picked from your hotel or Airport in Dar es Salaam and start your safari to the Selous Game Reserve. It is quite far and you will have picnic lunch stop en route late afternoon arriving in Selous. Then proceed with evening game drive as you drive towards the lodge/tented camp. Dinner and Overnight will be at Camp in the nearby area at Rufiji River.

Day 2: Full Day Game drive at Selous Game Reserve

Enjoy a full day boat safari in Rufiji River looking for Crockdile and Hippos. The Selous Game Reserve is the largest Game Reserve in Africa where its area seems to be more than the size of Switzerland and you will be amazed with its full of wild animals and a number of birds’ species. Apart from lions, leopards, giraffes, elephants, hippos, impala, hartebeests, pythons, elands, but it is where the rarest wild dogs can be observed but only if ones lucky can be able to see these rare unbelievable hunters of the African Wilderness. After lunch in the afternoons prepare to go for a boat safari in the Rufiji River and walking safari guided by an armed ranger.  Dinner and overnight stay at campsite near the Rufiji River area.

Day 3: Drive from Selous to Mikumi National Park for a full day game drive

Non game-viewing travel time: 1h 53min
Distance: 76.1 km

Have breakfast early in the morning and then drive from Selous to Mikumi National Park with packed lunch boxes. In Mikumi National Park expect to see animals such as Lions, Buffalos, Giraffe, Wildebeest, Zebras, Impalas, Warthogs, elephants, hippos, more than 300 bird species and various plant species. Have lunch enroute and continue with the late afternoon game drive until evening. Return dusty for dinner and overnight stay at nearby accommodation in Mikumi.

Day 4: Half day Game drive in Mikumi National Park

Have an early morning sunrise game viewing, back to the lodge/hotel for breakfast. After breakfast drive to Iringa Town via Ismila Stone Age Site. Explore Ismila Stone Age Site break for a while for picnic lunch in the area. Have dinner and overnight stay at hotel/lodge in Ismila.

 

Day 5: Drive from Iringa Town to Ruaha for a Game Drive

Non game-viewing travel time: 2hrs
Distance: 120 km

After breakfast drive from Iringa Town to Ruaha National Park and have lunch enroute. After lunch continue with an afternoon game viewing in the park to explore the beauty of Ruaha. Dinner and overnight will be at the lodge/tented camp in the park.

 

Day 6: Full Day Game Drive in Ruaha National Park

After breakfast early in the morning, have a full day game viewing in the park. The exciting Great Ruaha River features large numbers of hippo and crocodile. Continue with afternoon game drive in Ruaha and have lunch enroute. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the lodge/tented camps in Ruaha Park

 

Day 7: Early in the Morning Ruaha Game Drive and later Drive to Udzungwa

Non game-viewing travel time: 1hrs
Distance: 53.5 km

Have an early in the morning sunrise game viewing in Ruaha. Return back to the Camp for breakfast. After breakfast drive to Udzungwa Mountains. Lunch will be served at Udzungwe Mountain National Park in the afternoon. Continue with afternoon game drive in Udzungwe. Dinner and overnight will be at Udzungwa hotels/tented camps in the area.

Day 8: Half day game drive in Udzungwa later transfer to Dar es salaam

Non game-viewing travel time: 6 hr 38 min
Distance: 336.8 km

After breakfast, start trekking leads to the spectacular trail up to Sanje waterfalls. From here you will have a view of Kilombero Valley 180m. Drive back to the lodge/hotel in the afternoon for lunch. In the late afternoon drive back to Dar es Salaam.
