Overview
This eight-day trip starts in Dar es Salaam and explores Tanzania's southern parks: Nyerere National Park (the former Selous Game Reserve) and Ruaha National Park. It is a very different safari from the busier northern parks.
In Nyerere you stay at a tented camp on the Rufiji River and take boat safaris as well as game drives. Then you move on to Ruaha, known for its big elephant herds and one of the strongest lion populations in Tanzania, with far fewer vehicles than in the north.
