Lake Eyasi

Lake Eyasi lies at the foot of the Rift Valley wall, south of the Ngorongoro highlands. It is home to the Hadzabe (Hadza), one of the last hunter-gatherer peoples in Africa, whose click language and way of life have changed little over thousands of years.

A visit usually means heading out at dawn with Hadzabe men on a hunt or joining the women as they gather food, then meeting the neighboring Datoga, who are known for their traditional metalwork. It is one of the most memorable cultural experiences in northern Tanzania.
