Four days on Zanzibar is long enough to slow down to island time. You can snorkel, wander Stone Town or stay on the beach all day.
Timing matters on Zanzibar. December to March is hot and humid. The long rains from April to mid-June are best avoided for a beach holiday. July and August are dry with a cooling breeze, and October to November is another good window before the short rains. Our Zanzibar seasons guide has the details.
This trip works as a beach holiday on its own, or as an add-on after a mainland safari, since Zanzibar is only a short flight from Arusha or the Serengeti.
