Day 1

MAASAI VILLAGE CULTURAL TOUR

Your driver-guide picks you up from your hotel at the start of the day. You drive to a Maasai village near Arusha, where you are welcomed with traditional songs and dances and the high jumping for which the Maasai are known. Your guide introduces you to the community and you see inside the houses, built from sticks, mud and cow dung. You learn how they herd cattle, make fire, build fences and make beadwork, and you can visit the school and buy crafts to support the village. The visit is arranged with the community and your fee is shared among the families. In the late afternoon you return to your hotel in Arusha or Moshi, tired and happy after a full day.
