Overview
This 11-day itinerary is built specifically for couples who want both halves of a classic Tanzania honeymoon — a proper Northern Circuit safari, followed by real time to unwind on Zanzibar's beaches — without either portion feeling rushed to accommodate the other.
The safari days cover the Northern Circuit's highlights, with private game drives paced for two rather than a full group, before you fly on to Zanzibar for the second half of the trip. There, the pace shifts entirely: white sand, warm water, and genuinely nothing on the schedule beyond what you choose to do each day.
It's a combination that works precisely because the two halves are so different — the excitement and early starts of a safari, followed by the total decompression of a beach stay, rather than trying to make one trip do both jobs at once. Day by Day (11 days)
On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, transfer to Arusha for the night, with a full briefing on the days ahead.
Travel to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with game viewing en route. Overnight on the crater rim, with views down into the caldera below.
Drive to the Serengeti, with game viewing along the way as the landscape opens into the park's famous endless plains. Afternoon game drive on arrival.
A full day of game drives across the Serengeti, covering resident wildlife and, depending on the season, the wildebeest migration.
Morning transfer to the airstrip for a flight via Arusha to Zanzibar. Transfer to your beach accommodation, with the rest of the day free to unwind.
A free day on the island -- swim, snorkel, or simply relax on the beach after the safari portion of the trip.
Another free day in Zanzibar, with optional activities like a spice tour or sunset dhow cruise available on request.
Continue enjoying the island at your own pace -- Stone Town, diving, or simply the beach.
A further free day to unwind, with the honeymoon portion of the trip in full swing.
A final full day in Zanzibar before preparing for departure the following day.
Transfer to Abeid Amani Karume International Airport for your onward flight home.
