Lemosho Route Kilimanjaro Climb – 9 Days, Western Approach

9 Days Mount Kilimanjaro 1-7 people
From $2,200 USD per person*

Overview

Lemosho begins far out on Kilimanjaro's western edge and is one of the most varied ways to the top. The first two days pass through dense forest, then the trail climbs into heather, ferns and wide moorland, with some steep sections along the way.

On the third day the path meets the Machame route and follows its well-tested line to the summit. You get Lemosho's quiet start and Machame's reliable finish. It is harder going than Marangu or Rongai, but the slow western approach helps your body adjust to the thin air.

This is a tented climb. The long itinerary gives you more nights at gradually higher camps, which is why we suggest Lemosho to climbers who care more about reaching the summit than about the shortest trip.
