Day by Day (1 days)
MTO WA MBU CULTURAL TOUR
Your driver-guide picks you up from your hotel at the start of the day. Mto wa Mbu, the River of Mosquitoes, is a lively village at the foot of the Rift Valley escarpment, home to more than 120 tribes from across Tanzania. A local guide leads you on a walking or bicycle tour through banana plantations, rice fields and the market, where you see how people live and farm. You visit a woodcarving workshop, a banana beer brewery, a Maasai craft stall and a local family for a home-cooked lunch. The fee you pay supports the community and its school and health projects. In the late afternoon you return to your hotel in Arusha or Moshi, tired and happy after a full day.
