Overview
This single-day itinerary gets you into Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for gorilla trekking without an extended stay in Uganda — a genuine option if your schedule is tight but a gorilla encounter is still a priority.
The day involves an early start, a briefing at the park headquarters, and a hike of variable length and difficulty depending on where your assigned gorilla family has moved overnight — sometimes a short walk, sometimes several hours through dense, steep terrain. Once located, you'll spend a closely regulated hour observing the gorillas at close range before hiking back out.
Because this is such a compact itinerary, it's usually arranged as an add-on to a broader Uganda, Rwanda or Tanzania trip rather than a standalone visit.
