A compact "little Serengeti" near Dar es Salaam

Mikumi National Park is linked to the much larger Nyerere National Park (the former Selous Game Reserve). Its open Mkata floodplain, with wide grassy plains and easy-to-see wildlife, is often compared to the Serengeti.
