Meals on Kilimanjaro are prepared fresh at camp by your dedicated cook — typically a hot breakfast, a packed or hot lunch depending on the day's hiking, and a hot three-course dinner, plus tea, coffee and hot chocolate throughout the day. Meals are generally hearty and carbohydrate-focused, since you're burning significant energy at altitude.
Drinking water is boiled or treated from mountain streams by the crew — we recommend bringing water purification tablets as a backup and drinking considerably more water than usual, since staying well hydrated is one of the most effective ways to reduce your risk of altitude sickness.
