Uganda is a year-round gorilla trekking destination, since the gorillas don't migrate — but conditions in the forest do change with the seasons.
June to September and December to February are Uganda's two dry seasons, giving easier, less muddy trekking conditions underfoot in the forest.
March to May and October to November are the rainy seasons — trails are muddier and trekking is more physically demanding, but permits can be somewhat easier to book, and the forest is at its most lush and green.
Gorilla permits are limited in number and should be booked well in advance regardless of season — see our gorilla tracking guide for current permit pricing, or contact us as early as possible once you have travel dates in mind.
