4-Day Tanzania Safari Itinerary: What's Realistic
What's realistically possible on a 4-day Tanzania safari
Four days gives you enough time to do a Northern Circuit safari properly, if modestly — typically the Ngorongoro Crater plus two full days in the Serengeti. It's a genuinely popular first-safari length, and a common pairing with a few beach days in Zanzibar afterward.
The one honest caveat: 4 days is still tight if following the migration specifically matters to you. Depending on the season, the herds can be 3 to 4 hours from the main park entrances, and a short itinerary doesn't always leave room to chase them if they've moved. For general game viewing and a strong shot at the Big Five, though, 4 days works well.
If migration timing is your main priority rather than general wildlife, it's worth discussing your travel dates with us directly — sometimes an extra day or two makes the difference between a good safari and one built specifically around where the herds are that month.
