6-Day Tanzania Safari Itinerary: What's Realistic
What's realistically possible on a 6-day Tanzania safari
Six days comfortably covers the full classic Northern Circuit — Tarangire, Lake Manyara, the Ngorongoro Crater, and two to three nights split across different zones of the Serengeti. That last part matters more than it might sound: moving between Serengeti zones gives you real flexibility to chase the migration's actual location that month, rather than committing to one fixed spot regardless of where the herds have moved.
It's also a strong length specifically for photographers. Rather than a single pass through an area, six days allows repeat game drives in the same zone across different times of day — early morning and late afternoon light in the same location, rather than one attempt and moving on.
If flexibility to track the migration and repeat opportunities at the same sightings both matter to you, six days is a genuinely well-balanced length to plan around.
