7-Day Tanzania Safari Itinerary: What's Realistic
What's realistically possible on a 7-day Tanzania safari
Seven days is the most commonly booked length for a Tanzania safari, and it's easy to see why once you look at what it actually covers: all four major Northern Circuit parks, without needing to rush any of them.
A week gives enough room to spend a night in a different Serengeti zone than the rest of your stay — useful for tracking migration movement rather than betting everything on one location — and still leaves space for a rest day or a cultural stop, whether that's a Maasai village visit or an afternoon at Olduvai Gorge, without cutting into your actual game-drive time.
If you're not sure how many days you need and don't have a strong reason to go shorter or longer, 7 days is the safe, well-tested default that most first-time and repeat safari travelers land on.
