The Serengeti's climate breaks down into three distinct periods worth understanding before you pick travel dates. The dry season, June through October, brings clear skies and noticeably cooler nights — dawn temperatures often drop below 15°C, so a proper layer for early morning game drives matters even though the days themselves warm up considerably. The short rains, generally November and December, are brief afternoon showers rather than sustained downpours, and they rarely disrupt a full day of game driving.
