Tanzania Safari from India: Flights, Visa and Planning
Flights, visas and trip planning for travelers from India
Tanzania is genuinely more accessible from India than from most other long-haul departure points. Direct flights and easy one-stop connections via Nairobi, Doha or Addis Ababa mean the journey to Kilimanjaro is shorter than many travelers expect.
Indian passport holders typically need an e-Visa, straightforward to apply for online well before travel. Because the flight time is relatively short from most major Indian cities, even a 5 to 7 night safari makes good sense here — you don't need the longer trip length that we'd recommend for travelers coming from much further away, since the travel-time-to-trip-length ratio is already favorable.
That said, if you do have more time available, the easy access from India also makes it simple to extend into a longer combined itinerary without the trip becoming mostly about transit.
See our visa guide, or browse our safari itineraries to find a trip length that fits.
