Tanzania Safari from The UAE: Flights, Visa and Planning
Flights, visas and trip planning for travelers from the UAE
The UAE has some of the most convenient flight access to Tanzania of anywhere outside East Africa itself. Both Dubai and Abu Dhabi offer direct or near-direct flights to Kilimanjaro and Dar es Salaam, with a flight time considerably shorter than most other international departure points.
UAE-based travelers typically qualify for an e-Visa that's processed quickly, in keeping with the generally straightforward logistics of traveling from the Gulf. That short, convenient flight time makes Tanzania a realistic option even for a shorter 5 to 6 night safari — a trip length that wouldn't make much sense from further afield, but works well given how little time the journey itself takes.
If you're based in the UAE and have been thinking a safari requires a big block of vacation time, the flight access from Dubai or Abu Dhabi makes it a genuinely manageable trip to fit around a normal schedule.
