A full week on Zanzibar is enough time to genuinely explore what the island offers beyond the beach itself, while still leaving plenty of days for doing absolutely nothing if that's what you're after.
Whatever your preferred pace — diving and snorkeling among Zanzibar's reefs, wandering Stone Town's markets and history, or simply reading on a lounger with the ocean in view — seven days gives real room to fit in what matters to you without cramming everything into a rushed few days. There are good options here for pretty much every kind of traveler, from the activity-focused to those who want a full week of doing as little as possible.
This length also works well as a genuine standalone holiday, not just a safari add-on — seven days is enough to feel like you've properly been on an island escape, rather than a quick stopover between other activities.

Day by Day (7 days)
On arrival in Zanzibar, you will be met by our representative and transferred to Mtoni Marine Hotel. Overnight at Mtoni Marine hotel. (Dinner is at the client’s own discretion)
After breakfast, you will commence the Stone Town tour. The 2-hour tour will take you to the most scenic parts of the Old Town. This is the cultural heart of Zanzibar. Our guides are experienced and very well conversant with the rich history of the Island. The Old Town oozes magic and mystery and shafts and sharp light joust with deep shadows creating a fascinating world in the narrow streets.
Overnight and Breakfast, at Mtoni Marine hotel
UNESCO has recently declared Stone Town as one of the world’s historic cities, and it’s now a protected area in Zanzibar. The tour takes you to the former site of the slave market; the cathedral (Cathedral Church of Christ) built in its site in 1874, the Sultan’s palace, and more. Relax at leisure at the beachside.
After breakfast pick-up from the hotel and transfer to Kizimbani Village for the Spice Tour.
For much of the year, the scent of cloves is carried in the breezes from the clove buds drying the sun on road reside mats. The Spice Island as it is affectionately called has over forty of the most valuable tropical aromatic plants that were introduced over the last two centuries by the Oman Arabs. The spices are grown in the spice grades in the hills north of Stone Town. Our knowledgeable guides will take you through this fascinating tour. Spices can be tasted and even purchased. Later driven to the North East Coast for Check-in at Zamani Kempinski.
Spend the day enjoying the beaches of the East Coast and the Swahili way of living or at the resort’s swimming pool. Breakfast, Dinner and overnight at Melia Zanzibar hotel.
After Breakfast, you will be picked up for visit to Jozani Forest – Half a day.
This forest is one of the last remaining sanctuaries in the world of the red colobus monkey. Wonderful photo opportunities and sightings of these rare creatures living in the forest reserves are possible on the pathways.
After lunch, transfer to Melia Zanzibar for overnight.
